Adding to the tradition of one of college football’s premier bowl games, rock & roll legend John Fogerty will headline the Capital One Halftime Show during the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl on December 31, 2015. Fogerty’s appearance in South Florida continues the tradition of top entertainment showcased during the Capital One Orange Bowl halftime show.

One of popular music’s all-time great singers, guitar players and songwriters – with a career spanning six decades – John Fogerty earned massive popular and critical success with the one and only Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). CCR is one of the most important and beloved bands in the history of rock, and Fogerty wrote, sang and produced their instantly recognizable classics: “Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising,” “Born on the Bayou,” and more. As leader of CCR, Fogerty forged a distinctive, groundbreaking sound all his own, equal parts blues, country, pop, rockabilly, R&B, swamp boogie and Southern fried rock ‘n’ roll, all united by his uniquely evocative lyrical perspective.

In 1972, Fogerty embarked on what would prove to be an equally impressive solo career.  Among his many highlights are the 1975 album “John Fogerty” – featuring the rollicking single “Rockin’ All Over The World” – and 1985’s No. 1 phenomenon, “Centerfield.”  With its trio of timeless hit singles, including “The Old Man Down The Road,” “Rock And Roll Girls” and the irresistible title track, the multi-platinum collection marked Fogerty’s glorious return to the forefront of modern rock ‘n’ roll. 1997’s “Blue Moon Swamp” earned Fogerty further acclamation, as well as a Grammy Award for ‘Best Rock Album.’  In 2013, Fogerty released his album “Wrote a Song for Everyone,” a testament to his impact on generations of music makers and music lovers.

In 2015, Fogerty published his long awaited New York Bestseller memoir “Fortunate Son: My Life, My Music,” which takes readers from his Northern California roots through CCR’s rise to number one in the world—eclipsing even the Beatles in 1969—to his hard-won revival as a solo artist. Among his many other honors are induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, BMI Pop Music’s prestigious BMI Icon Award.  In addition, Fogerty and “Centerfield” were honored during the 2010 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies.

“The Capital One Orange Bowl Halftime Show has long been recognized as some of the best entertainment in sports,” said Vicki Matthews, Capital One Orange Bowl Game Day Entertainment Committee Chair. “We are excited to have one of the all-time greats join us for what is sure to be a special New Year’s Eve in South Florida.”

Prior to the game, renowned gospel singer Yolanda Adams will sing the national anthem. Adams has sold nearly 8 million albums worldwide and is a Grammy, Stellar Gospel Music, BET and Dove Award-winning artist. In 2009, she was named the No. 1 Gospel Artist of the last decade by Billboard Magazine.

The 2015 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl, to be held on December 31, 2015, at either 4 or 8:00 p.m., will feature a matchup between either No. 1 vs. No. 4 or No. 2 vs. No. 3 in the final CFP Rankings. The Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl is officially sold out.

For the 11th consecutive year, Miami’s eminent production, www.actproductions.com, will be producing the entertainment elements of pregame and halftime. ACT Productions also booked and confirmed John Fogerty as the main act.

“We are thrilled to welcome rock n’ roll legend John Fogerty to Miami for this year’s Capital One Orange Bowl Halftime Show,” said ACT Productions CEO Bruce Orosz. “This is going to be an amazing show. Prepare to be rocked.”

After his New Year’s Eve performance at the Capital One Orange Bowl Halftime Show, Fogerty will kick off his first-ever Las Vegas residency, Fortunate Son in Concert. The residency runs January 8 – 23 at The Venetian Las Vegas and will feature hits from his entire career.
