The Future of the Orange Bowl in the College Football Playoff Era
After the upcoming Discover Orange Bowl on January 3, 2014, the College Football Bowl system including the Orange Bowl begins an evolution to a four team playoff to determine a national champion in addition to even more exciting matchups in the annual Discover Orange Bowl. Semifinal games will rotate among six different bowls including the Orange Bowl. In the years when the bowls are not hosting semifinals, the bowls will feature eight other teams in four compelling matchups.

The Orange Bowl moves back to the New Year’s Holiday every year with games scheduled for New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day over the next twelve years.
The first match-up is scheduled for December 31, 2014.
In eight of the 12 years, the ACC Champion will meet a team from either the Big Ten Conference, Southeastern Conference or Notre Dame.
In the other four years the Orange Bowl will host a College Football Playoff Semifinal.
Orange Bowl will host a College Football Playoff Semifinal every three years.
The first semifinal in South Florida is scheduled for December 31, 2015
The other three semifinals will be in Dec. 31, 2018, Dec. 31, 2021 and Dec. 31, 2024.
Either #1 versus #4 or #2 versus #3 as determined by the new College Football Playoff selection committee will play in South Florida.

Priority Wait List: Click Here to place a $25 per seat deposit toward seats for the 81st Discover Orange Bowl on December 31, 2014. The first and best available seating will be allocated to those on the Priority waitlist as soon as tickets become available in early 2014.

Tickets will be available in early 2014 and those on the waitlist will be offered the best available seating prior to the general public (after those on the priority wait list have secured their seats).
